Jason Thomas Olijar

Jason Thomas Olijar was born on October 13, 1969, in Lorain. He graduated from Avon Lake High School, class of 1988, and Hocking Tech. He attended OSU, and received his Peace Officer and Park Ranger Training at Tri-C. Most recently he worked for Highway Products in Akron, and he lived in Cuyahoga Falls. Jason passed away in his mother's home in Avon Lake peacefully, on July 16, 2025, after a two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. He was 55 years old.

Jason loved to fish. He fished in Lake Erie his whole life, he was always happy to be on the water. He enjoyed hunting with his camera and camping. He made lifelong friends at Hocking Tech and looked forward to their annual camping trips. He will be missed.

Jason leaves his loving mother, Susan Hewitt; his stepfather, Gordon Hewitt; his dear brother, Devin Olijar; and his devoted nieces and nephew, Tori, Camille, and Ryan; his stepsisters and brother, Kimberly Darr (Brian), David Hewitt (Megan), and Julie Wilson. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Olijar.

In memory of Jason, take a child to the lake and teach them to fish. Private services to be held.
