Amie C. Petras, age 44, passed away suddenly on Friday May 30, 2025.
She was born on October 28, 1980 in Cleveland, Oh. and graduated
from Avon Lake High School, Class of 1997, received her undergrad degree
in Early Childhood from Bowling Green University and her Masters
from Notre Dame College. Amie was a Childhood Special Education
Educator for Spectrum in Lorain. She worked at the Treasurers Office at Avon Lake
City School since she was seventeen years old. She was active in 4-H
and enjoyed showing her rabbits. She collected bears, adored
her Japanese Chin dog, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Amie will be remembered by always having a smile.
She is survived by her father Ronald (Erica) R. Petras and mother
Christine (nee Defazio) Petras, sisters Nicole R. Petras and Gina
M. Petras, step-sisters Tia Dannemiller and Cara Dannemiller, nephews
Julian Petras, Rhett Weidman and Jaxon Perkins and nieces Olivia
Porterfield and Dani Perkins.
A 10:00 am Mass will be celebrated on Friday June 6, 2025 at
St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar St. Elyria, Oh 44035,
followed by a Celebration of Life at the Knights of Columbus Hall,
1783 Moore Rd. Avon. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the
Children's Tumor Foundation, Mail Code 6895 P.O. Box 7247,
Philadelphia, PA. 19170.
The MISENCIK FUNERAL HOME, Avon, will be in charge of arrangements.
