Jason Douglas Sargent, 56, died peacefully in his sleep in his home in Jackson, TN on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
He was born in Las Vegas, NV on July 29, 1967, to the late Joseph Duane Sargent and Earlene Francis Sargent Johnson.
Jason was a Man of God, humble, patient, loving, kind, and funny. Jason obtained his Bachelor of Music and vocal performance from Union University with continuing education toward a Master of Education at Union University. He was an ordained Minister of Music as well as serving in children's ministry.
Jason led a fulfilling career as a beloved teacher who touched the lives of so many through music and children's ministry. His wife Wanda was his other half and best friend, while his two daughters Shelby (Sport) and Rebekah (Squirt) were the apples of his eye! His grandchildren were the light of his life and could instantly put a smile on his face and brighten his day! Jason also had three cats, Charlie, Lil Bit and Chelsea, who he loved dearly and had a special connection with, as they could always sense when he did not feel well and would lay by his side.
Jason is survived by his wife, Wanda Sargent, his daughters, Shelby Sargent (Chelsey) and Rebekah Sargent, his brother, J.D. Sargent (Julie) and two precious grandchildren that knew him as Pappa JJ, Kaysen Gray Sargent and Olivia Joy Douglas.
SERVICES: A funeral service to honor Jason's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Rev. Terry Hunley officiating.
The family will be receiving friends on Monday beginning at 12:00 p.m. and continuing until the service at 2:00 p.m.
