Jason Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A Natural State Funeral Service & Crematory on Dec. 19, 2025.
It is with great sadness to announce the death of Jason B. Smith. He fought the good fight with Spina Bifida his whole life and left knowing how loved he was by his family and friends. His body will be cremated.

Jason Boyd Smith, age 51, passed away in Hot Springs, Arkansas, on Monday, December 15, 2025. Jason was born March 6, 1974, to Betty Routh Carter of Hot Springs Village and Terry Graham Smith of McCrory.

Jason was a proud graduate of Lonoke High School, Class of 1992. He attended First Assembly of God churches in Lonoke and Hot Springs Village when he was able.

Jason is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Claude and Floy Bishop Routh of Des Arc and his paternal grandparents G.R. and Mattie Smith (Big Daddy and Big Momma) of McCrory.

He is survived by brothers, Allen and Brenda Childress of DeValls Bluff, Benton Childress, Nat Routh Childress of Asheville, NC.

Our thanks to all of you who kept his spirits up and provided assistance. We owe special gratitude to Arkansas Hospice. They always went the extra mile, night or day, to simplify his last days to make him comfortable. They are true angels of the medical field. They were so kind, compassionate, and helpful.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Spinal Cord Commission in Little Rock or the Spina Bifida Association of Arkansas.

A family-hosted memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 10:00am at Biscoe Assembly of God Church located at 996 W. Sportsman Drive, Biscoe, AR 72017.
