Jay Anthony Gossage, 82, of Tolar, passed away on Tuesday, September 30th, 2025, in Granbury. Jay was born June 29th, 1943, in Compton, California to Henry and Claudia Ayer Gossage. He married Barbara Ann Bickle on July 10th, 1970, in Dallas, Texas. She preceded him in death on April 18, 2022. Jay loved and was loved dearly, and he will be greatly missed.

He loved all his kids and grandkids, not just biological, but the ones he acquired along the way. There were sleepovers, trail rides, and go-karts. There were snacks and smoothies, holidays and birthdays. Each person he loved, he loved individually, with a special relationship just for them.

He is survived by his children, Alisa Gossage, Tony Gossage and his wife Julie, and Ray Gossage and his wife Veronica; grandchildren, Isaac Gossage, Lily Silversmith, Shelby Gossage, Brooke and Paige Gossage, and Nolan Gossage; brother, Henry Lane Gossage and wife Barbara.

Graveside services will be held at 2pm. on Sunday, October 5th, 2025, at Thorp Spring Cemetery, 2803 Clay Street in Thorp Spring.
