Jay Hammac Schad, age 50, of Fountain, FL, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at his residence.
Jay was born in Pensacola, FL on September 17, 1975 to Wilda and Randall Schad. Jay and his family soon moved to Milton, FL for part of his childhood before moving to Fountain, FL in 1996. Jay was a skilled scuba diver and mastered his craft through Panama City Marine Institute. He was also a talented landscaper and loved to go fishing, sketch artwork, and go to the beach where he would collect coral and seashells.
He was preceded in death by his memaw, Bertha Simpson.
Jay is survived by his parents, Randal Schad and Wilda Dyess; sons, Jay Schad, Jr. and Charlie Schad; brothers, Justin Schad and wife, Tanya, Jerrad Schad, Ryan Dyess and wife, Jamie. Survivors also includes his grandmother, Nell Schad; grandson, Daymien Schad; the mother of his children, Sandra Willis; and lifelong friend, Tameka Hayes.
A graveside funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 20, 2025 at Fountain Cemetery with Chaplain James Dawson officiating and Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his special caretakers April and Nancy, as well as the entire staff of VITAS for their exceptional care and compassion they showed Jay and the family.
Funeral services are entrusted to the Lambe Family at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
