Donnie Ray Shores, Jr., age 55, of Cottondale, FL passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Southeast Health.
Donnie was born on October 21, 1969 in Marianna, Florida to Donnie Shores, Sr and Debbie Cassidy where he remained a lifelong resident of Jackson County. Donnie graduated from Cottondale High School where he excelled in baseball, football and basketball. Donnie worked at Shores Cabinet Shop as a cabinet maker and installer. He cherished his time working with his father, Donnie Shores, Sr. and his co-worker and special friend, Wesley Sellers. Donnie was a Toyota truck enthusiast and enjoyed fast cars and riding his motorcycle. He was also a very talented artist, specializing in pencil sketching. Donnie loved his family more than anything and enjoyed his time sitting around the table with a fresh cooked meal.
He was preceded in death by his step brother, Michael Locke.
Donnie is survived by his father, Donnie Shores, Sr., and his wife, Charlotte, of Cottondale, and his mother, Debbie Cassidy of Alford; his children, Ryan Shores, Jordan Shores and his wife, Kelsey, Leighann Shores, Michael Joseph Shores, Donnie Ray Shores, III, and Ashton Avery Shores; siblings, Angela Dawn Shores, Dana Shores Fleck and her husband, Jason, Danny Shores and his wife, Candace; grandchildren, Karsyn Jean Shores and Amani Perry; step-sister, Michelle Cumbie and her husband, Gary; special friend and co-worker, Wesley Sellers.
A private funeral service was held 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 17, 2025 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Michael Petty, Danny Tate and Jeffrey Shores officiating.
Interment followed the service in Cottondale First Baptist Church Cemetery. Those serving as pallbearers were: Drake Mercer, Danny Shores, Jr., Christian Dean, Ryan Shores, Jordan Shores and Derek Benefield.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Lambe Family at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
