Jayvion’Tae Jolan-Louis Cox, lovingly known as “Jojo,” was born on November 22, 2010, in Evansville, Indiana, and gained his wings on September 4, 2025, at the young age of 14.
Jojo was a bright light in the lives of his family and friends. Raised with love and care by his Nana, Brea Johnson, he grew into a young man full of talent, ambition, and heart. Jojo attended Lincoln, AIS and Central High School. He enjoyed playing basketball and football, and could often be found competing on NBA 2K, where his competitive spirit always shined.
Creative and driven, Jojo expressed himself through rap and drawing, sharing his gifts with those around him. He dreamed of building a rap career, not just for himself, but as a way to take care of his family—a reflection of his love, loyalty, and maturity beyond his years.
He is survived by his loving mother, Sharnetta Foster; his father, Nicholas Cox; his Nana, Brea Johnson; his Papaw, Stayce Foster; his Grandmothers Yolanda Cox and Michelle ; and his brothers and sisters, Teauna, La’Kenia, Jaron, Breyiana, Tae’Aubry, Tailynn, Ava D, Ray, Seth, Zariah, Malaya, Devo, Kai’lenne, Myiah; his nephew, Ka’Mazion “Baby Blitz”; His cousins, Brandon, NiAsia, Olivia ,Javeon, FeFe, King, Myracle, Legend. His Aunts Danyale, Brooke, Donna, Janae, Brittney, Whittney, Jaselyn, Carlisa; His Uncles, Jayson, Micheal, Kent, Keevon, Aaron, Christopher, Donavan, Tyandre, Uncle Ced
He is also remembered by a host of siblings, cousins, extended family, and friends who cherished him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his great grandmother Louis “MawMaw” Johnson, His Great Aunts, Sirena Foster, Ursula Smith, His Cousins Princess and Prince.
Though his time with us was far too short, Jojo’s spirit, laughter, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him dearly.
