Jean Alice Bearface Jeffries

During the early morning hours of Friday, October 31, 2025, Jean Alice Bearface Jeffries, age 82 of Louisville, passed away unexpectedly at her residence. She was born on August 18, 1943, to parents William Bearface and Mabel Ironhorn as a member of Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in South Dakota.
Jean was a loving wife, caring mother, and devoted grandmother. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, and worked professionally as a nurse for her working career. Following her retirement, she enjoyed spending her time watching gaming shows and her favorite soap opera, "The Young and The Restless." She also enjoyed playing games at the casino, where she was able to have fun and make connections with many different people. A true animal lover, Jean devoted much of her time to helping her feline friends. She and her grandson Steven rescued many cats over the years, ensuring they were able to find a loving home. Kind and passionate, Jean had a gentle loving spirit that will be deeply missed by all those who had the chance to know her.
In her passing, Jean is reunited with her parents, William and Mabel; her beloved husband of forty-eight loved filled years, Perry Denny Jeffries; her precious infant daughter, Valarie, and her son Denny Jean Jeffries.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her grandson, Steven L. Jeffries, and her sister Rita Bearface.
In accordance with her wishes, no public services will be held. A private entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Gardens in Mt. Washington, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved Perry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jean's memory can be made to Disabled American Veterans, Kosair for Kids, or the Kentucky Humane Society. Three organizations she was very passionate about supporting.
