Jean M Cloidt, 71, known as Jeanne to all who knew her, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025. Born in Yonkers, New York, on June 21, 1954, to Mary Carney and Savino Losco. Jean attended Berkeley Secretarial School (Berkeley College) and served as the Assistant to the Commission at Westchester County Jail till she retired after 37 years of civil service. Jean's greatest joy and achievement was her family.
As a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother, Jean was truly the heart of her family. She was always doing for others-family, friends, and even those she had just met. To know Jean was to be loved by her, and everyone who crossed her path became part of her extended family.
Jean had a remarkable gift for remembering every birthday, anniversary, and special occasion in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and loved ones, ensuring that each person felt celebrated and cherished.
Jean lived life to the fullest. She was an avid bowler, a tie-dye enthusiast, a Paigow connoisseur, an amazing baker, and a world traveler. In her younger years, Jean loved going ot the casinos with her mother, father, and sister Terri, a hobby she carried with her her whole adult life, eventually dragging her son Justin along and passing her passion for the games on to him.
Jean loved to travel with her husband Tony, each year, planning a new destination to see in the world. Jean's favorite vacation was the yearly family trip to Myrtle Beach. Jean loved the ocean and shared that passion with her granddaughter, Shay.
Jean was especially proud of her grandchildren, Shay, Samantha, Joseph, and Tyler. She bragged about their accomplishments, no matter how small, to anyone who would listen. Her greatest joy was being called Nanny. A title she proudly represented to the fullest extent.
As a lifelong Barbie enthusiast, Jean spent many years collecting all things Barbie and attending Barbie conventions with her beloved "Barbie Girls," friendships that brought her immense joy and laughter. Each year, she could not wait to see her "girls" at numerous destinations across the country, where these conventions would take them.
Jean is predeceased by her Mother and Father, Mary and Savino Losco, and her beloved sister, Theresa (Terri) Solazzo. She is survived by her loving husband, Anthony (Tony); her son, Justin (Laura) Cloidt and bonus son Eric (Christina)Cloidt; and her cherished grandchildren, Shay, Samantha, Joseph, and Tyler. She is also survived by brothers, brother and sister in laws, many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and all of her dearest friends she has made over the years. The family asks that you please wear something purple, pink, or tie-die (Jean's favorite colors) to celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked you to donate in Jean's memory to the and/or the American Diabetes Association.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Cargain Funeral Homes, Inc., 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel, NY.
