Jean Halmi Obituary
Jean L. (Siddlow) Halmi, 93, of Columbia Avenue, Palmerton, died peacefully Sunday morning, Jan. 1, 2023, in Palmerton. She was the wife of the late George Halmi, who passed in 1997.
Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Sr. and Helen (Rakus) Siddlow.
Jean was employed as a senior loan officer by the former Citizen's Bank and Trust Co., Palmerton, for over 42 years.
A 1947 graduate of the Palmerton High School, she later graduated from Allentown Business School in 1948.
Jean was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton, and the Palmerton Hungarian Club. She enjoyed bingo and her occasional casino trip.
Survivors: Several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brother, Joseph Jr.
Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, 243 Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton. Call, 9:30 - 10 a.m., Wednesday in church. Interment, parish's new cemetery, Stoney Ridge Road, Palmerton.

Jean was a long-time friend and neighbor of my mom Irene. She took my mom to church ever week for years and generally kept tabs on mom. Her friendship to my mom is something that was wonderful and our family is deeply appreciated. Chris Scherer and family of Winnie and Irene Scherer.
