Conway.....Jean Lewis Murdock, age 80, of Conway, SC entered eternal rest on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Conway Medical Center.
Jean was born in Conway, SC to Cecil and Viola Gasque Lewis. Jean worked with several area banks throughout her career and then later was a bookkeeper for Chestnut Hill and Chesapeake House restaurants for many years. She was a lively person that always had a smile on her face and a helping hand. Her smile was so great that even her Alzheimer's diagnosis could not erase it. She was determined to do her part for the advancement of Alzheimer's treatment so much that she sacrificed her own body and well-being by entering an experimental research study. Jean was a member of North Conway Baptist Church and loved her church family. She was a very active member of Waccamaw Chapter #89 Order of the Eastern Star before her sickness progressed, serving in many capacities including state positions. Jean was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Dennis Murdock.
Surviving are her son, Reid Murdock (Melanie) and two grandchildren, Ethan and JD, all of Conway. She is also survived by her sister, Sarah Johnston (Rudy) of Moncks Corner.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00PM Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at North Conway Baptist Church.
