Jean, age 97, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025. Born in Willoughby, Ohio on September 16, 1927, Jean was a proud and lifelong daughter of Lake County. She lived much of her life in Ohio before moving to Englewood, Florida, where she and her beloved husband William "Bill" Santry enjoyed retirement for many joyful years. After Bill's passing, Jean returned to Ohio to be closer to her family, who remained the heart of her life.
Married for 65 beautiful years, Jean and Bill shared a love story marked by deep devotion, laughter, adventure, and quiet moments of joy. Together they built a family full of love, traditions, and memories that will live on for generations.
Jean was the cherished mother of Patrick Santry, Jeffrey (Patty) Santry, and Beth (Chuck) Hughes. She was the adored grandmother of William (Jami) Anderson, Kelly (Mike) Woodworth, Katie (Dan) Brock, Kristen (Jim) Rice, and Daniel (Victoria) Santry. She was also lovingly known as "Nanny" to her bonus grandchildren: Kenneth (Peggy) Hughes, Jessica (Douglas) Irvine, Jennifer (Christophe) Buffard, and Johanna (Tim) Inwood.
Jean's legacy continues through her many great-grandchildren: Morgan Anderson, William Anderson, Lucas, Allison, and Charlie Rothwell, Hayden and Levi Rice, and Harrison, Henry, and Charlotte Brock. She was also the proud bonus great-grandmother to Mason and Andrew Woodworth, Emma and Elliot Hughes, Eliana, Esther, Scarlett, Ivy and Vera Irvine, Archard and Edmund Buffard, and Cora, Lillian, and Andrew Inwood.
She was the beloved aunt of Paula Scibelli, Susie Pasek, Jerry Allyn, Kim Schultz, Lori Morrison, Patty Day, Patty Jo Santry, and Ed Santry.
Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill, her sister Virginia Jolluck, and her brothers William, Walter, and Robert (Bud) Allyn.
Jean retired from the Lake County Juvenile Court in 1985, after which she embraced retirement in Florida with her usual zest for life. She took up tennis, golf, and swimming, and made dear friends wherever she went-friends too many to count. Because when Jean was your friend, she was your friend for life.
Known for her vibrant spirit, boundless kindness, and storytelling, Jean touched everyone she met. She had an incredible ability to make people feel seen and encouraged, and she offered wisdom in even the smallest conversations. Her love for her family was fierce and unwavering. She found immense joy in sharing her stories, her laughter, and her pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In her later years, Jean-affectionately nicknamed "Jeanie Beanie" by her devoted caregivers at Governors Pointe-was a light to all around her. The family extends heartfelt thanks to all those who visited her and shared moments with her during her final years. You brought happiness and comfort to her days.
Rest in peace, sweet Momma. You will be missed beyond words.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 7, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, OH, (Next to the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home).
Burial will follow the mass at Willoughby Cemetery, Sharpe Ave., Willoughby.
