Jeanette Sue Greinert was born on November 4, 1949 at Estherville, Iowa to Elmer and Gertrude (Meyer) Ruhnke. She passed away at the West Bend Care Center on March 7, 2025 at the age of 75 years.
Jeanette was baptized in her parents' home in Fenton, Iowa on November 18, 1949. She later lived in rural Lotts Creek, Iowa and attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade School at Lotts Creek. She was confirmed in her Christian faith on April 23, 1963, at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Lotts Creek. She graduated from Sentral High School in Fenton, Iowa in 1967. Jeanette then attended La'James College of Hairstyling in Mason City, graduating in 1968. Jeanette was united in marriage to Ted Greinert on April 3, 1971, at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Lotts Creek. They made their home on the Greinert family farm until 2007, when they moved into Whittemore, Iowa. Their marriage was blessed with 2 daughters, Dana and Paula.
She always enjoyed working alongside her husband Ted on the farm with cattle, together at the hog site, and during the harvest season. She was a member and devoted some of her time to being a Sunday School teacher at St. Luke's Lutheran Church and a 4-H leader. Unfortunately, on September 24, 2008, her life changed forever when her body was overworked affecting her walking for the rest of her life. Although it was difficult to walk and get around, she still enjoyed gardening, flowers, and shopping. She even found a way to go to the Whittemore Pool to watch her grandkids swim in the summer. As things were hard Jeanette never quit or complained about her health.
Jeanette is survived by her husband Ted Greinert of Whittemore; daughters Dana (Jason) Rockwell of Mason City and Paula J. Peters of Whittemore; grandchildren Garett and Carter Rockwell, and Aurora, Ashton, and Addison Peters.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Everett Ruhnke.
