Jeanette L. Smaw

It's with deep sadness to announce the passing of Jeanette Louise Smaw, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Jeanette quietly departed this life on Thursday, September 29, 2022, in her home in Somerset NJ. She will be sorely missed and forever loved by all who knew her.
Jeanette Louise Smaw daughter of the late Thelma and John Jones was born on October 30. 1951 in Plainfield New Jersey. She attended public school in Union County New Jersey and graduated from Plainfield High School in 1969. She continued her education at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Jeanette was united in holy matrimony to Philbert Smaw on July 4, 2008. The happy couple lived in Somerset, New Jersey for many years and enjoyed traveling and spending quality time together. Philbert Smaw preceded her in death on November 11, 2021.
Jeanette was a woman of many talents, who remained steadfast in all things in life. She had a thriving and flourishing career as an Insurance Agent with Allstate Insurance company. She poured her heart into helping her customers and often traveled throughout the United States representing the company before her retirement. Jeanette will always be remembered for her love of literature, music, fine arts, dancing, and enjoying family get-togethers. Jeanette dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness on March 12, 2011. She was devoted to and allowed Jehovah to guide her way of living and affirmed God Jehovah as the Most High.
Jeanette was blessed with a large and loving family and a host of special and devoted friends who will cherish her memory forever. She's survived by her daughter, Donielle D. Bynum, grandson, Tywan Bynum, sisters, Jacqueline Jones-Patterson (Lavonia) and Terri Lynn Boone (Gregory), brothers, Ronald Jones (Audrey), Jeffrey Jones (Michelle), Kevin L. Jones (Dell) and Roger Edward Jones (preceded in death 2015). Nephews, Lashawn Jones and Aswad Jahi Jones, Nieces, Ronisha Jones, Value Jones, Alvania Boone, Akia Jenny Johnson, and Denise Jones-Baer. Jeanette will be buried at Hillside Cemetery of Sampton, 1400 New Market Ave. South Plainfield, NJ.
