Jeanne Knowles, 78, of Topeka passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024. She was born in Topeka on January 27, 1946 the daughter of William B. and Evelyn P. Greer Herschell. She was raised in Topeka, attending grade school in Oakland neighborhood and then at Tecumseh. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1964.
She was married in August of 1964 to Tom Williams. They later divorced. She later married Charles Knowles. Jeanne and Charles later divorced. They lived for two years at K. I. Sawyer Air Force Base in Michigan. She later lived in Colorado Springs and attended Pikes Peak College. Jeanne worked for Texas Instruments as a machinist. In her time away from work she enjoyed the mountains, hiking and camping. Jeanne rode on a motorcycle to Sturgis while living in Colorado. She returned to Topeka to become her parents' caregiver. She was a layout designer for Jostens's Publishing for over 14 years. In later years, Jeanne helped Julie with her business in Lawrence and craft fairs and Festivals.
Jeanne was an intelligent and creative woman who was very adventurous, who lived her life to the fullest.
Her survivors include her daughter Julie A. Kingsbury and her husband Patrick of Baldwin City, Kansas; sister Deanna Allen Cox and brother in law Samuel Cox in California and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Parker-Price & Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rochester Cemetery. A reception will follow the graveside service back at the reception center at Parker-Price & Davidson. PPDfuneral.com
