Jeanne M. Vollert, age 80 of Wisconsin Rapids WI passed away peacefully on November 25, 2022, at Aspirus Riverview Hospital. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022, from 9:30-noon at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids with a service at noon and a lunch to follow at the funeral home. A private burial will be held Monday, December 5 at Calvary Cemetery. Jeanne was born September 3, 1942, to George and Evelyn (Strosin) Bodette in Wisconsin Rapids. She attended St. Peter and Paul Elementary School and graduated from Assumption High School in 1960. After high school, Jeanne worked in the stenography pool at Consolidated Papers where she worked until she started her family. After having her children, Jeanne worked at Kobza Realty and then for several years at Auto Electric. She loved working with her friends Tom Bartelt, Pat Carroll and Cary Lyons and enjoyed visiting with all the customers there. On June 6, 1964, Jeanne married Frederic (Fritz) Vollert at St. Vincent de Paul in Wisconsin Rapids. They were blessed with 57 years of marriage and four wonderful children. Fritz passed away October 17, 2021. Jeanne was a lifetime member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and her faith in God was inspiring. Jeanne loved to cook and bake and passed along this love to all four of her children. Her homemade baked beans and homemade rolls were always family favorites. With her kind heart and talents in the kitchen, she often brought food to friends and neighbors - especially those who lived alone. In her younger years, Jeanne enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, camping, and fishing. She could play a mean game of Scrabble and always for a quarter. Some of her fondest memories included trips up north with family and friends. Fritz and Jeanne had many good times at the Homestead Golf Course and treasured all of the lifetime friends they made there. Some even called her Saint Jeanne. In more recent years, she enjoyed taking trips to casinos with her sister Barb and going to Barb's house for meals and several hours of Yahtzee. On a Saturday morning, you could find her at Barb's for "Old Lady Coffee" with her cousin Christine Griffith, special friend Cathy Heiser, niece Tina, daughter Gail and the host and best friend, Barb Gellerman. Mom, you had a heart of gold. You loved your children and grandchildren, and all the family time we spent together filled your heart. Your soft voice, gentle demeanor, caring eyes and warm smile will never be forgotten. You were a perfect example of an angel and you will be our angel forever. Let the heavens rejoice as you are welcomed home for your eternal rest. Jeanne is survived by her four children, Colette Torres (Marty), Killeen TX, Alan Vollert and Fred (Alison) Vollert, Wisconsin Rapids, and Gail (Jay) Prochnow, Vesper. Grandchildren Joseph, Tyler, and Jordan Torres, Brittany Drollinger and Cody Vollert, Ryan and Erik Prochnow, Kale Kroll, Carson, Chandler, Finley, Everett and Eriana Vollert and great-grandson Paxton Drollinger. She is further survived by brothers James (Gina) Bodette and Larry (Carla) Bodette and sister Barb Gellerman, brothers-in-law Irv (Sharon) Vollert, Wendell Eastling, sisters-in-law Susan Bean, Carole Kobza and Alice (John Homelvig) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fritz, brothers-in-law Kenneth Vollert, Dave Bean, Leonard Kobza and sisters-in-law Lois Eastling, Bette Vollert and Linda Vollert. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Sean Cashin and the staff at Aspirus Riverview Hospital for their kindness and exceptional care given to Jeanne and to Herman-Taylor Funeral Home for assisting the family with arrangements.
