In keeping with her heritage, Jeannie Shank passed away on Native American Heritage Day 11/24/23 surrounded by her loving family after an extended battle with cancer.
Jeannie is survived by her children, Chrissy (Emmett), Monica, Ricky, JR, Amanda (Joe), Brittany, and Brandon, 16 loving grandchildren, 3 great grand children and expected 3 new additions. Also survived by her brother, Bret Shank and her childrens father Martin Sr. - She was the glue that kept this giant family together.
Knowing Jeannie meant that you were family. She had many friends and adopted family that she opened her home to through out the years. Her door was always open for anyone, at any time.
Her family wishes to give a special thanks to Joyce Gilger for her compassionate and loving care and for being her "twisted sister" until the end. Also, thank you to Kurt Capper for always being her "road dawg".
She will be greatly missed by every one that had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
"Sky above, Sand below, Peace within"
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 5-7 pm with a funeral service at 7pm at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home, 303 South Chapel Street, Louisville.
