Obituary published on Legacy.com by Campbell Funeral Home - Beverly on Jan. 5, 2024.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Jeffrey French Mansfield, 52, of
Beverly, MA. Jeff passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, following a valiant 15-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Despite the disease's assault on his body, Jeff maintained the characteristic twinkle in his eyes until the very end.
Jeff lived the Golden Rule. His legacy of kindness will forever be imprinted on the hearts and minds of the countless individuals he touched: his oldest friends from Beverly, his college buddies from Norwich, his colleagues and clients from Cap World, Inc. where Jeff had worked since 1994 as well as his neighbors, nieces and nephew, and so many others. His gentle nature, unwavering integrity, appreciation for the wonders of the ocean, and love for his family and friends will be remembered and cherished forever.
As a lifelong resident of Beverly, Jeff enjoyed his early childhood and being with his grandfather "Grampy" Dr. Glennwood I. Hersey on his beach at Prince Street where Jeff developed an appreciation and deep connection to the sea. While growing up in the "Cove," Jeff enjoyed boating and water skiing with a close-knit group of friends along the coast of the North Shore.
Jeff was a proud member of Beverly High School's Class of 1989. During this time, Jeff earned his "wings" by obtaining his pilot's license at Beverly Airport. A graduate of Norwich University in 1993, Jeff had the distinguished honor of being elected class President all four years. His supportive father, Jason F. Mansfield, was very involved and deeply proud of Jeff's accomplishments.
After obtaining his degree in Business Administration, Jeff returned to the shores of Beverly which became his permanent home. The only thing that Jeff loved more than the sea was his family-especially his devoted wife, Jenn. The couple, who had known each other since high school, reunited in 2010 and were married in 2017. Through this fateful serendipitous reconnection of soulmates, their deep love was etched in stone. Their home on Standley Street was blessed with love, laughter, and a meticulously manicured lawn (since no single errant blade of grass could go unclipped by Jeff!). They made a second home on their cherished boat, Aquila II, from which they would explore the coastline from Marblehead to Martha's Vineyard. They were both active members at the Corinthian Yacht Club in Marblehead.
Jeff and his mother, Pamela Hersey Mansfield, had a very close bond. They would start each day with a loving phone call and wishing each other well. At only two weeks of age, she wrapped Jeff in a life jacket and tucked him under the deck of her boat "Pam's Pram," and went sailing. Jeff's brother, Christopher Hersey Mansfield, was always there to lend a hand whenever called upon and who cherished their adventures together. Jeff loved his grandmother "Grinny" Ruth Chirurg who was devoted to his happiness.
Jeff is survived by the love of his life, Jennifer (Coletti) Mansfield; his parents, Jason and Pamela Mansfield, and brother, Christopher Mansfield, all of Marblehead; his father-in-law, Jack Coletti, and his wife, Christine, of Danvers; his brother-in-law, John Coletti, of
Washington, DC; his brother-in-law, Jamie Coletti, and his wife, Jenni, of
Charlotte, NC; and by his treasured nieces and nephew, Mikaela Coletti, Lola Coletti, and J.J. Coletti.
Our sincere thanks to family, friends and medical staff who devoted their love and expertise.
