Jeffrey Ira Salad, 66, of London, England passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and closest friends following a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Marvin M. "Babe" Salad and Suzanne (Freedman) Salad. Prior to the onset of Parkinson's, Jeff had a long and distinguished career in the investment software industry requiring him to travel all over the world to in-service his employees and clients. He was extremely hard working and well respected by all his colleagues and clients, many of whom became his closest, lifelong friends. He held an undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut, and a master of science in computer information systems from Bentley College. Jeff loved living and working in London, having relocated there in the mid 90's to assist with his employer's expansion into the European market. He enjoyed walks in its parks, world history and architecture, sharing his global travel experiences with family and friends, and the beaches along the Rhode Island shore where his family maintained a summer home. Among his many passions was gardening, where he would spend hours working and relaxing. His unending thirst for knowledge and understanding- from world events and history to global markets and commerce-made him a fascinating and pleasurable person to be in the company of and spend time with. For all of his personal and professional accomplishments, of which he was most proud, his greatest by far was simply to be "dad" to his devoted and loving son, Granit. He is survived by his wife, Arta Dedaj-Salad, son Granit Dedaj-Salad, brothers Stephen, Kenneth, and Todd; and sisters Alison and Ronna, and a great many friends and extended family members. A graveside service for Jeffrey Ira Salad will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 12PM at Hartford Mutual Society Memorial Park, East Granby, CT 06026. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Parkinson's UK 50 Broadway, London SW1HODB or https://www.parkinsons.org.uk/donate.

Very sad to hear of Jeffry's death. He fought hard against the many Parkinsons disabilities that came his way. A courageous fighter!

I was very saddened to hear about Jeff, he was such a great guy. He would call me Eichelberger and I would call him Saladberger. My heartfelt condolences go out to the Salad family.

I will always laugh when Jeff and Jeff got caught up in a Dateline sting (luckily the honest guys side). We had such fun times when we all lived in NYC. We'll miss you! xoxo

My deepest condolences to the entire Salad family, especially to Granit and Arta who I know were the center of his world. Jeff was a wonderful guide to the treasures of London and helped David and I truly embrace the time we spent there. Always a smile and a kind word for everyone, he will be missed.

Long ago and not so far away, Jeff and I worked as part of a team to build a robust software system. I still work with that system that has endured for decades and he will always be part of that journey. RIP, Jeff, you were a warrior and will always live on in our hearts.
