Jeffrey L. Wilder, 71, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on March 12, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on May 4, 1953, to Lyle and Rosemary Wilder, Jeff lived a life full of kindness, adventure, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.
A proud graduate of Roncalli High School, Jeff built a life centered around faith, family, and hard work. In 1977, he married Suzanne Reckley, and together they embarked on a beautiful journey, moving to Florida to raise their four sons-Jeffrey Jr., Marcus, Alex (Kristin), and Evan. Jeff was a dedicated and loving father, always finding joy in watching his boys grow and later embracing his role as a proud grandfather to Rhett, Alleigh, and Laylah.
Jeff's career with FedEx spanned decades, and after retiring in 2021, he returned home to Indianapolis to be closer to family. He cherished time spent with his siblings, Greg Wilder, Cheryl Pendick, Larry (Kathy) Wilder, and Debbie Cothron, and was known for his warm heart, quick wit, and love for sharing stories with those around him.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Jeff's life at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, 5353 McFarland Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46227, on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. A Mercy Meal will be provided by the church immediately following the service, offering loved ones a time to gather, share memories, and honor Jeff's life. Indiana Funeral Care is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorial Contributions be made to American Cancer Society or St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Though he may no longer walk beside us, Jeff's love, laughter, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind. His legacy of love and devotion will continue to shine through his family and friends, reminding us always of the wonderful life he lived.
