It is with great sadness that the family of Jennifer Sue Scales, 49 years of age, announces that she passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, in Amarillo. Jennifer was born on September 11, 1974, in Hale Center, Texas to Marvin and Mary Ann Scott.
While growing up, Jennifer attended school in Plainview then worked as a dental assistant. One Sunday morning while sitting in Sunday School, a young man who was attending Wayland Baptist University, noticed a pretty blonde and started inquiring about her. Once he was certain she wasn't dating anyone, the first time they spoke, he asked her on a date, and they have been together since. Two years later, they married on August 5, 2005, in Farmington, New Mexico. They remained in Plainview for one year while Christopher finished school at Wayland and she worked as a floral delivery driver, then moved to Abilene for four years so he could attend seminary, followed by a relocation to Lubbock for Chris to go through a clinical pastoral program for four years, then eventually to Pampa. Jennifer always remained a very supportive wife.
Jennifer was the epitome of a housewife and mother as she literally centered everything she did around her husband and five children. She homeschooled her kids for years, took them on walks and to the park. Her main focus was to invest time and love into her family. Although she was more or less a very private homebody, she was more than willing to venture out if it was for a family function or for one of her kids.
She found solace in decorating her home, drawing stills, cooking for her family and playing music for the kids to enjoy. Jennifer was a strong Christian woman with conservative Christian beliefs and other than being dedicated to her Savior, she was a loving and caring mother who was also dedicated to her family. By the grace and mercy of God through Jesus, her husband can say with confidence that she is in peace and joy in Heaven with Jesus, our Lord and Savior. John 14:1-4, 1 Corinthians 15:50-58.
She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Scott; a brother, Brent Scott and a son, Zakkerey Scales.
Jennifer will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her family and friends including her husband, Christopher Scales; five children, Trystan Scales, Cassidy Scales, Kailey Scales, Matthyew Scales and Timothy Scales all of Pampa; her mother, Mary Ann Scott of Plainview; a brother, Dale Scott of Mineral Wells and several other extended family and friends whom she loved.
For those wishing to pay their respects, Jennifer will be available for viewing on Wednesday, September 11th from noon until 5pm at Winegeart Funeral Home in Sunset state room.
Celebration of Life Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 am, Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum with Brother Jim Sinyard officiating. The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
