Jeremy Lee McConnell

Jeremy Lee McConnell of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away September 1, 2025, at the age of 40. Jeremy was born November 1, 1984, in Norman, Oklahoma, to parents Tracy Ann and Michael Lee McConnell.

Jeremy graduated from West Moore High School in Oklahoma City, OK. An accomplished artist and writer as an adolescent, he received many local and national awards. After high school he attended the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore, MD, and then received a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from The New School in New York City, NY.

As a film professional in his early career, Jeremy worked for IFC, the Independent Film Company in New York City, as well as several other film companies. After returning to Oklahoma, he worked for several real estate management companies, including his family business, McConnell Realty in Norman.

Jeremy continued his passion for film and music after returning to Norman. He loved to read books on a wide variety of topics and enjoyed staying very well informed on a wide array of current affairs. He excitedly shared any new music finds with his friends. He loved spending time with his nephew Grayson, supporting his grandparents as their personal IT specialist, and participating in family gatherings. Jeremy had a talent for cooking, especially Thai and Italian dishes, frequently spending all day on one dish.

Jeremy was preceded in death by his father, Michael McConnell; and his grandfather, Charles K. Heatly. He is survived by his mother, Tracy (Heatly) Mrasek; dad, Larry Leese; brother, Alex Leese; nephew, Grayson Leese; grandmother, Sheneesta Heatly; grandparents, Jerry and Carrol McConnell; and stepfather, Michael Mrasek.

He has a host of other relatives and friends all over the country whom he loved very much. Jeremy will be deeply cherished by those who knew him best, inspiring a lasting impact.
