Jeremy Wayne Thompson, age 40 of Alvin, Texas, passed away on July 16, 2024, surrounded by his family, mom and dad, and special friends Josh Drexler and Amy Sanchez. He was born on March 20, 1984, in Dallas, Texas to Keith Thompson of Alvin, Texas, and Linda Thompson of Manvel, Texas.
Jeremy graduated from Alvin High School as a three-year letterman in basketball and went on to play at East Texas Baptist University. Jeremy loved working on cars, going camping, golfing, and cheering on the Houston Astros. Jeremy worked for many years in the fiber optics world. He was a "guru" with his hands and made lifelong friends.
Most importantly Jeremy loved his family. Jeremy will be dearly missed by his son, Caleb. Jeremy and Caleb had developed a real tight bond over the years. Jeremy, with his heart of gold, had a way of dealing with Calebs autism that made Caleb feel like a normal child. Jeremy will also be missed by his Brothers Ian and wife Jessica, Joe and wife Jennifer, Grandmother Norma Youngdoff, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sonny Smith and Shirley DiRuzza, and paternal grandfather Harvey Thompson and "Papaw" Wendell Youngdoff.
A memorial visitation will be held at Scott Funeral Home on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM with a celebration of life beginning at 3:00 P.M.
A special thanks to Jeremy's hospice team from Community First Lea, Erika, Sheila, and Pastor Mike.
