Age 84, of Alma, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2023, at his home.
Jake was born September 15, 1939, in Calumet, the son of William and Ellen (Maki) Davidson. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Berlin during the Berlin Crisis. When he was there he saw Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev inspecting the wall. Jake was a well known member of the Alma VFW Post #1454. Jake delivered for Meals on Wheels to the Gratiot County elderly. He will be remembered as having a wry sense of humor and enjoyed collecting coins, loved animals, especially his dog Cooper and his many cats.
He is survived by his children Anne (Jason) Kiefer of Milwaukee and Mike (Christopher DeKuiper) Davidson of Chicago, long time companion Carol Douglas, four grandchildren, brothers Allan and Grant and many nieces and nephews.
Jake was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Mary, siblings Eunice, Judy, Thomas, Brian and Bruce.
A celebration of life gathering will be held Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 1 to 4 pm at the Alma VFW. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Davidson Family, c/o Carol Douglas.
