Jerome Pfeifer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Best Funeral Services Phoenix on Jul. 21, 2025.
Jerome Gordon Pfeifer (Jerry) lost his battle with Parkinson's and went to be with the Lord on July 9, 2025, at the age of 77. His family was blessed that he was able to end his battle at home, surrounded by those who loved him most.

Jerome was born in Harvey, ND, on November 22, 1947, to Gerhardt and Lydia Pfeifer. He is survived by his wife (Katherine), 3 sons/daughters-in-law (John, Paul /Jennifer, and Jeremy/Anjulie ), 5 grandchildren (Samantha, Macy, Jacob, Levi, and Riley), and 2 great grandchildren (Killian and Oliver), brother/sister-in-law (Timothy/Mary), and sister (Cynthia Almer). He was preceded in death by his parents (Gerhardt and Lydia), brothers (Ronald and Jeffrey), sisters (Janene Halverson and Jolene Luvaas).

Jerry joined the Marines after high school graduation and was deployed to Vietnam February 1969 where he earned 2 purple hearts. Jerome attended Phoenix College, earned an Associate of Arts degree, and then worked for the Arizona Department of Transportation for 35 years. Jerry was quiet and steadfast, he put the needs of others above his own and could always be counted on in a crisis and to help out whenever needed. One of his favorite passions was traveling to Mexico with his good friend, Leland Long, to help with upkeep on an orphanage. He was on the work baseball team, volleyball team, ran marathons, hiked…he was always busy. He found intrinsic value in putting the needs of others ahead of his own.

A celebration of life memorial will be held at Christ Church of the Valley (7007 W. Happy Valley Rd. Building 400) on Monday, July 28, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Friends and family are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Michale J. Fox The Parkinson's Foundation in Jerome's honor.

Jerry was a one-in-a-million guy; an amazing, loving, honorable husband, father, sibling and friend. Our world is so much less without him.
