On April 7, 2024, Jerry Mack Fletcher, age 74 of Grand Prairie, left this world after a short battle with cancer. He was born to F.M. and Beatrice Fletcher at the Waxahachie Sanitarium on October 28, 1949. Jerry was raised in Waxahachie and attended Waxahachie High School.
After high school, Jerry began working at Flexsteel in Waxahachie. Later he became a loyal employee at Triumph Areostructures in Grand Prairie for many years, where he made some lifelong friends. During his life he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing softball with his closest friends and family. After retirement, he bought a motorcycle and began taking road trips around the country with friends. More recent years were spent at home with family and caring for his wife.
Jerry was blessed with the birth of his daughter, Tonya in 1968. Jerry and Tonya had many things in common including a love for fishing, hunting and playing softball together. Though there weren’t enough years shared, Tonya brought joy and laughter to Jerry’s life until she left this world after a hard fought battle with cancer in 2001. Knowing he would be seeing Tonya again brought great comfort to him in his last days.
Jerry was proceeded in death by his parents, F.M. and Beatrice Fletcher; his daughter, Tonya Spears; his sister, Juanita Covington; and great-grandson, Waylon Mack Spradling.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Fletcher; son, Jody Fletcher and wife Lesli; step-daughter, Regina King; brother, Jimmy Fletcher and wife Nancy. As well as, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Jerry is also survived by the mother of his children, Nicki O’Daniel.
Visitation for Jerry will be held from 1:00-3:00 pm on Tuesday April 16, 2024 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas. Followed by a 3:30 pm graveside service at Waxahachie City Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Faith Presbyterian Hospice of Dallas, Texas for caring for Jerry in his last days.
