Jerry was passionate about many things. First and foremost was his love for the Lord and his best friend and wife of 51 years, Sherry. His greatest pride and joys were his four daughters and the many grand and great grandchildren. Jerry had many talents, but his poetry was a passion he nourished his entire life. Jerry shared many of his poems with the world, and a select few poems written specifically for close family members and friends. Wherever he went, and whoever he met, God used him as a vessel to meet others where they were at the moment with his words, through work, and through special ministries.
If you had the privilege of knowing Jerry on and off Facebook, then you know he was a man with many words and opinions! He enjoyed sharing his poetry and sarcastic satire on social media. So many will miss his daily posts on where he stands politically, spiritually, and where to eat in his local town!!
If you were to ask Jerry how he is right now his response would be "Just peachy!!" On his way to heavens gates we all know he said, "Don't worry Mrs. Bodet, I'll leave the light on for you!" For his final dining recommendation, he suggests The Eternal Golden Buffet at the Pearly Gates on the corner of St. Peter's Ave. and Angel Dr.
Jerry was very passionate and involved in local ministries. His greatest desire would be in lieu of flowers that donations be made to one of the groups he was most passionate about; Gospel Garage Automotive Ministry Corp.
