He was born on July 14, 1939, in Brunswick, MD to the late Ralph Sterling and Mary Lee (Knipe) Kaetzel.
He was a 1957 graduate of Boonsboro High School.
Jerry was the owner of Kaetzel's Insurance Agency (Brethren Mutual) for over 60 years until his retirement. He was previously employed by JB Ferguson as a surveyor.
He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church Rohrersville, MD.
He was also a member of the NRA.
Jerry was an avid hunter, loved the mountains, and going 4-wheeling. He was also an avid Detroit Tiger and Green Bay Packers fan.
Jerry coached little league for both his sons and sponsored several teams through Kaetzel Insurance for many years. He never missed any of his grandchildren's sporting events.
He is survived by his wife Janet Lynn (Heffner) Kaetzel whom he married on June 20, 1992; son Jerry K. "Pete" Kaetzel, Jr. (Charlene); son Mark S. Kaetzel (Kendra); stepdaughter Catherine E. Culler (fiancé Bronwyn Miller); stepson Garrett E. Culler (Jessica); brothers Robert "Bob" Kaetzel (Virginia) and Richard "Dickie" Kaetzel (Vicki); 5 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special cat "Buttons".
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 10:00 am with Pastor John Schildt officiating. Interment will be in Brownsville Church of the Brethren Cemetery Brownsville, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County 1710 Underpass Way Ste. 300 Hagerstown, MD 21740.
