Jerry Dean Roberson

Jerry Dean Roberson passed away peacefully on January 5th, 2026, in his home in Kenner, Louisiana, surrounded by friends and family.

Born on July 29,1943, in Texarkana, AR and raised in Amarillo, TX, Jerry was the son of the late Dean Roberson and the late Dorothy Roberson. He graduated from the University of Texas, earning a degree in Marketing. He began his career in Austin, TX, where he worked as a clothing salesman and buyer for Rubenstein Brothers, which eventually moved him to the New Orleans area to work at the Canal Street location. He later transitioned into the car business, where he established his longstanding career as a car salesman, dedicating 27 years to Mercedes-Benz of New Orleans.

Jerry was a devoted husband to his wife Sharon Casey Roberson for 48 years, and a loving father to his two children, Casey Dean Roberson and Robin Roberson Handy. He was a proud grandfather to Summer Roberson (19), Vivian Handy (8), and Jacob Dean Handy (6). He is survived by his sister, Bettye Stevens. Jerry found his greatest joy in spending time with his friends and family, whether it was at his camp in Mississippi or watching the Saints and LSU play in his garage. In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing, Jazz Festing, and crabbing on the lakefront. His love for his family and friends ran deep, and his legacy lives on through the values he shared, the countless memories he created, and the love he gave so freely to all that knew him.

A celebration of Jerry's life will be held on January 17th at 1pm at his beloved property in Kiln, MS. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Hospital, a cause close to Jerry's heart. Online condolences may be offered at www.gardenofmemoriesmetairie.com.
