Jerry Wayne Willoughby

Funeral Time: Tuesday, October 17th at 1:00PM
Jerry Wayne Willoughby, 74, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, died on October 9, 2023, at Markey Cancer Center in Lexington. He was born in Lexington, KY on January 14, 1949. He was the son of the late Malcolm and Mae Ballard Willoughby.
Jerry was proud to be a veteran. He served his country in the U.S. Army for four years, where he earned a sharpshooter award. He was a skilled electrician and knew how to fix or build just about anything. He was always there to help anyone he could and made friends easily wherever he went. He enjoyed both fishing and golfing and could not say which sport he liked the best. His brother often said that Jerry could have been a great golfer if he had spent more time golfing and less time fishing, Jerry said his brother could have been a great fisherman if he had spent more time fishing and less time golfing. Jerry was loved greatly by his family and friends. His absence will be felt by all who knew him.
Survivors include: his wife, Brenda Willoughby; a brother, Doug Willoughby and his wife, Janice of Lexington: two sons, Paul Willoughby and his wife Laura of South Carolina, and Sean Willoughby and his fiancé Londa Adkins of Frankfort; two stepsons, Louis Sparks and his wife Laura of Lawrenceburg, and Scott Crane of Louisville; a granddaughter, Tracy Getman and her husband Tyler of New York; and two step-grandsons, Lance Sparks and Landon Sparks, both of Lawrenceburg. Jerry was preceded in death by his sisters: Louise Jones and Phyllis Ann Pulliam.
Visitation will be 11:00 to 1:00 Tuesday, October 17 at Kerr Brother's Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Rd., Lexington, Kentucky followed by a funeral service at 1:00pm. Burial will be at 2:30 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Jessamine County. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org/ways-to-give/).
