Jessica Gwen Gates, born on October 20, 1975, in Marietta, GA, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025, at her home in Dallas, GA, at the age of 49. A cherished mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, Jessica was a radiant light whose warmth, kindness, and magnetic spirit touched everyone she met.
Jessica had a heart that welcomed all. She was endlessly accepting, the kind of person you instantly felt at ease with-someone you wanted to be around. Making friends came naturally to her, and she made everyone feel seen, valued, and loved. Her joyful, open-hearted nature left a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to know her.
For over 15 years, Jessica dedicated her life to healing and helping others as a massage therapist. Her work wasn't just a job-it was an extension of her compassion and deep care for others. Her love for people, paired with her nurturing touch, brought peace and comfort to so many.
Jessica's appreciation for the little things in life, especially her love of nature and animals (with a soft spot for squirrels), reflected her gentle and joyful spirit. A creative soul, she was an avid DIYer and arts and crafts enthusiast who loved sharing her handmade creations and brightening the lives of those around her.
Jessica was preceded in death by her father, Richard Glen Gates.
She is survived by her daughter, Haley Hanson and her husband Jordan Quick, her son, James Hanson, her mother, Barbara Gates, her brother, Mark Write, her sister, Felicia Dice, and her adored grandchildren, Jax Quick, Mavrick Quick, and Elana Quick. She also leaves behind countless friends who will forever cherish her memory and the genuine love she shared so freely.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held in the Sam Clark Chapel of Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Immediately following the service Jessica will be laid to rest at Peaceful Meadows Cemetery with James Hanson, Haley Hanson, Jordan Quick, Charles Dice and Phillip Dice serving as pallbearers.
Jessica leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, healing, and the kind of light that never fades. Her presence was a gift, and her spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
