Hellweg – Jessica Hellweg, age 41, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on December 3, 2023, at St. Vincent's Riverside Center of Caring with her loving family by her side. Jessica was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 12, 1982, to her loving parents, John R. Hellweg and Piedad Elena Restrepo Hellweg. She was raised in Hawaii,
Omaha, Nebraska, Panama, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, and they finally settled in
Montclair, Virginia. Jessica graduated from Hilton High School in 2000 and earned her bachelor's degree at Virginia Commonwealth University in
Richmond, Virginia in 2006. After graduation, she worked at SunTrust Bank for a few years until attending the Tom Rose Dog Training school in
St. Louis, Missouri. Jessica was most passionate about animals, especially dogs. Jessica Volunteer at the animal shelter, she loved sports, and enjoy the different sports Seasons. Jessica loved books and was an avid reader. In 2012, Jessica relocated to Jacksonville, Florida where she owned, operated, and was a Dog Trainer at River City Dog Training. Jessica was very successful and enjoyed her career. She also enjoyed shooting pool with her friends who she considered family. Jessica was full of life, lived to the fullest, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Jessica was blessed to have wonderful friends. Jessica loved each and every one of her friends. Her wonderful friends covered her with genuine love. They sent her loving and healing prayers and messages everyday while she was in the hospital. Her caring and loving friends were at the hospital until her last moments of life. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Cletus and Darlene Hellweg; maternal grandparents, Candelaria and Hernando Restrepo; and aunt, Elizabeth "Betty" Kramer.
Jessica is survived by her loving parents, John R. and Piedad Elena Restrepo Hellweg of Jacksonville, FL; aunts & uncles, Nora Gonzalez, Ruben (Miram) Restrepo, Pedro (Martha) Restrepo, Arthuro Restrepo, and Juan Restrepo; many cousins, 6 dogs, 2 cats, and numerous close friends she claimed as family.
Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Adam Izbicki as Celebrant. Jessica will be entombed at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in the near future.
