Jim Cornell, age 82, of Broseley, MO, died Thursday, January 22, 2026 at his residence in Broseley. Mr. Cornell was born September 28, 1943, son of the late Burt Hanley and Grace Cornell.

He started Cornell Trucking in 1973 with a single dump truck. The family business continues to operate today by his kids and grandkids. He has been a member of Black River Church for 50 years. He also attended Cowboy Church in Fisk

He enjoyed fishing and fish frys. He also enjoyed stock car racing and playing cards. More than anything, Jim's greatest joy was found in his family. He especially loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.

On January 25, 1964 he married Anne Cornell (Willis). She survives. Also surviving are two children: Gina Blue (Chipper) and Christine (Dino) Oberkramer, both of Broseley, MO; four sisters: Barbara Cash, Judy Cash, Kay Trout, and Wanda Adamson; one brother: Virgil "JR" Smith; seven grandchildren: Jessica Young (Kyle), Jimmy Cornell, Blake Blue, Jerrad Blue, Kaylee Mitchell (Pierre), Kyle Oberkramer (Jaden), Mason Oberkramer (Aliece); 13 great-grandchildren: Julia Chambliss; Noah and Kinsey Cornell, Lillian and Finn Blue; Brady and Brody Blue; Kai and Ace Mitchell; Waylon Oberkramer; and Bristol, Quinn, and MaCray Oberkramer.

In addition to his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by one son: Junior Cornell; two brothers: Richard Wright and Larry Hanley; and one sister: Sherry Willis.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday with Rev. Kevin Murray officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Chapel Cemetery in Broseley. Condolences: www.whitesandersfuneralhome.com
