Jim Miles, age 79, a resident of Sikeston, MO, died Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, MO.

Born August 16, 1945, at Sikeston, MO, to the late Victor Miles and Emma Adell Earnest Miles, he was a 1964 graduate of Sikeston High School and went on to obtain his degree in Respiratory Therapy from the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center. He would go on to work over 20 years at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. In 1992, he moved to Tennessee where he became director of Respiratory Care at Erin Medical Center and later moved to the Elizabethtown. Kentucky area before returning to Sikeston to be near his family where he and his wife Donna would provide care they needed. He had served a number of years in the National Guard.

Jim was a lover of all-things nature and outdoors. He enjoyed dart throwing, fishing, trapping, competitive shooting and reloading and was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He was especially known for his dry sense of humor.

On April 2, 1990, he married Donna Ray and she survives of the home.

Also surviving are his sons, Michael Miles of Winchester, CO and Chris Ray of Sikeston; his daughter, Melissa Miles of Sikeston; his grandchildren, Mitch Miles and Ashley Ray; and his brother, Allan Miles of Murray, KY.

The scattering of Jim's ashes will be done at a later date.
