Jimmie Wayne Battenfield, also known as Wayne, was born on August 1, 1945 and passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024. He was welcomed into this world by parents Eulys and Mona Hill Battenfield in Telaqua, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of five. The family made their way to California in 1946. He was no stranger to grief, loosing his father at nine years old. His mother eventually remarried to a wonderful man named John Lima. John took in the entire Battenfield family and treated them as his own. Wayne went to high school at Mt. Whitney. At the age of 17 he  enlisted in the United States Army  and was expecting his first child, Elizabeth Lancaster, with Carolyn in 1963.

Wayne finished his service in Germany and returned home to married Connie Marie Lindsay. Together they raised 3 daughters Kimberly in 1970, Dawna in 1974, Sheryl in 1976. Wayne loved all 4 of his girls dearly. He was the proud owner and operator of JW Battenfield Trucking Co. spending 40 dedicated years behind the wheel, often times right along side his Brother Bill and Grandson Brandon.

He is preceded in death by Eulys, Mona Battenfield, John Lima and siblings Kermit, Kenneth and Barbara Battenfield. In 2003 after over 30 years of marriage, He lost the love of his life Connie Marie Battenfield.  In 2016 he lost his beloved daughter Dawna Marie Battenfield. In 2021 he lost his oldest grandson Robert Lea.

He leaves behind his brother Bill Battenfield, 3 daughters; Elizabeth Lancaster (Frank Schoenbachler), Kimberly (Tracy) Griffin. Sheryl Keeler.

9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly.  Along with many other beloved family members and friends.
