Jimmie "Charlie" Brown of Tomball, Texas passed away unexpectedly August 13th, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born April 25th, 1937, in Clinton, Oklahoma to the late Beulah (Pascher) Brown and James Brown.

Jimmie graduated from Clinton High School in Oklahoma in the year 1955. While at Clinton HS, he played running back and linebacker on the football team. Upon graduation, he served in the United States Navy as a member of the Seabees (construction battalion). He was a chief equipment operator and used those talents to support building runways and aircraft infrastructure to further military efforts overseas and abroad. He advanced to the rank of Chief Petty Officer. His deployments included Cuba, Bermuda, Puerto Rico, the Philippines, and Newfoundland, Canada. He ultimately retired from the US Navy Reserves in 1997.

It was on the US Naval Air station in Newfoundland on his 25th birthday where he met Hazel Marie Cousins, whom he would later marry in June of 1962. They shared over sixty beautiful years together. They loved traveling and camping, and they spent many summers camping and visiting family in Newfoundland together. He loved sports, especially football, basketball and baseball, and he shared that passion by teaching and coaching his sons and grandsons in sports. He held multiple positions throughout his working career, including employment in the steel industry and the HVAC sector, where he instructed students in air conditioning technologies. He was a loving and involved father - quick to laugh, loved sharing stories, and enjoyed playing dominoes and card games, including Newfie School. His wit was that of an old vintage, charming and growing in complexity with his age. He also loved gardening. He was heavily involved in North Central Church, which he attended for over forty years, with many of those years serving in the Sunday School office. He was a stalwart servant of the Lord, sharing wisdom, joy, and counsel to all who would listen.

In addition to his parents Beulah and James Brown, he was preceded in death by his sister Josephine (Jo Ann) Brown, son David Merkins, and daughter Cynthia Sinor.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Cousins Brown; children, Ray Brown (spouse Lea), Cathleen Brown, and Rob Brown (spouse Michelle); grandchildren Leslie Gonzalez (spouse Bill), Robert Brown, Michael Brown (spouse Jessika), and Stephen Brown (spouse Alejandra);

His family would like to thank all the friends and family that have been very supportive during this difficult time.
