Mrs. Jimmie Faye Chapman, age 85, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025. She was born on November 13, 1939, in Maury County, Tennessee, to the late James Cothran and Ruby Virginia Cothran Roberts.
A true Southern lady, Jimmie lived a life full of love, laughter, and devotion to her family. She had a passion for quilting, shopping for little treasures, and tending to her beloved flowers. Side by side with her husband of 71 years, George Chapman, she worked tirelessly on the family farm, embodying strength and dedication in all she did.
Above all, Jimmie cherished her family. She was a proud and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her heart was fullest when surrounded by loved ones, and she lit up with joy at the sound of their laughter. Though she adored their company, she also appreciated the quiet peace that followed — a balance she embraced with grace and humor.
She is survived by her sons James (Deborah) Chapman, Thomas (Terri) Chapman, Danny (Jana) Chapman, and Kenneth (Theresa) Chapman; her grandchildren Randy, Eric, Brian, Rebeca, James, Steven, Adam, Brandon, Gary, Timothy, Lester, Sebastion, Stephanie, and Johnathon; great-grandchildren Alyssa, Brianna, Olivia, Emma, Kara, Erica, Jake, Ross, Courtney, Weston, Waylon, Nathan, Will, Logan, Emma, Eli, and Preston; and great-great-grandchildren Quinn, and Hadley. She is also survived by her loving sister, Dorothy Longsdorf, sister-in-law Rosemary Chapman and daughter-in-law Cheryl Bates.
Jimmie was preceded in death by her loving husband George Chapman, her son Michael Chapman, her sister Patricia McKennon, and her parents.
Her legacy of love, strength, and warmth will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday August 26th at 2pm at Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.
