Jimmie "Jim" Dale Johnson, 72 of Evansville IN, passed away on Thursday, July 17th, 2025 at the Linda E. White Hospice House.
Jim was born in Evansville, IN, March 4, 1953, to Paul F. Johnson, Sr. and Aldah "Jackie" (Myers) Johnson who preceded him in death along with his brother, Paul F. Johnson, Jr. and infant baby sister, Jaylyn Gayle Johnson.
Jim is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jean (Wagner) Johnson; sister, D. Jan Johnson Young (Steven) of Henderson, KY; brother, William "Bill" Michael Johnson, MD (Cathy) of Fort Myers, Fl; nieces and nephews, Rachel Johnson, Jeremy Young (Beverly), Jessica Shoemaker (Steven), Callie Johnson, and Jocelyn Johnson.
Jim grew up in Boonville, IN, attended Main Street Baptist Church, and graduated from Boonville High School and University of Southern Indiana. His passion was traveling with his wife in the U.S., and internationally. As well as yearly trips to the Caribbean Islands for a month. Jim enjoyed researching his family genealogy and was a proud member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was employed by American Electric Power, Rockport Plant in Material Management during its construction and Whirlpool Corp. till its closure at which time he retired.
Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 E. Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711.
Friends may visit from 12:30 pm until service time on Saturday at Browning Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
