James "Jimmy" Andrew Dunlap, Jr., age 69, of Soso, MS passed away October 27, 2024 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Dogwood Chapel with Pastor Ben Beasley officiating. Burial will be in Franconia-Oak Grove Cemetery in Aliceville, AL with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will follow the service at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th Street NE in Aliceville.
He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Dunlap, Sr.; brother, William Craig Dunlap and grandparents, James W. and Lucile Dunlap and William G. and Aleine Eldridge.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Teresa Dunlap; daughters, Melissa Goodson, Amanda Thompson (James) and Jaime Beasley (Ben); son, Matthew Dunlap (Shirley); mother, Dorothy E. Hill; sisters, Pat Wilson (Willie) and Sharon Hamlin (Larry); sister-in-law, Joyce Dunlap Thomas; ten grandchildren, Tyler Burt (Shyanne), Michael Goodson, Ethan Thompson, Cody Thompson, Ella Thompson, Addy Beasley, Jonah Beasley, Lona Dunlap, Maddie Dunlap and Delilah Dunlap; two great-grandchildren, Atleigh Burt and Kinsley Burt and a number of nieces and nephews.
Jimmy was born December 2, 1954 in Macon, Mississippi. He was a retired employee for Northland Cable with over 20 years of service and a retired supervisor for the Laurel Police Department.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Burt, Michael Goodson, Cody Thompson, Ethan Thompson, James Thompson, Jonah Beasley, Chris Wilson and Will Hamlin.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Pickens Academy Class of 1973, Eugene Tilley and Mike Cameron.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to First Presbyterian Church, 324 Broad Street NE, Aliceville, AL 35442.
