Jimmy L. Palumbo Sr., of LeisureTowne, formerly of Bordentown and Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Allentown, NJ, Jimmy resided in Hamilton before moving to Bordentown in 1978, and later to LeisureTowne in 2012. A hardworking and devoted family man, he spent 27 years employed as a bricklayer with U.S. Steel before retiring in 1993. He continued his strong work ethic with a second career as a Boiler Operator for Mac Industries, retiring in 2016 after 20 years of service.
Jimmy was a man of many passions. He loved the outdoors-hunting, fishing, especially surf fishing at Island Beach State Park-were among his greatest joys. He was a member of the Fort Dix Rod & Gun and enjoyed bowling, coaching youth soccer, and playing scratch-off lottery tickets. Above all, Jimmy cherished his family, taking immense pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the heart of his life.
He was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Palumbo, and was predeceased by his wife, Diane P. Palumbo; his great-grandson, Jack Harm; and his brothers, Ronald and Robert Palumbo.
Jimmy is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Jimmy Jr. and Randi Palumbo, Joseph and Amanda Palumbo, Ned and Tracy Cutshall; and his daughter and son-in-law, Faith and Larry Jordan. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Kaiden, Raegan, Gianna, and Josie Palumbo, Crystal (Jason) Harm, Anthony Jordan, Dena (Brian) Bunch, Matt (Jamie) Cutshall, and by seven great-grandchildren. He is also mourned by his brother, Gene Palumbo; his sisters-in-law, Carol Palumbo and Maria Palumbo; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Bordentown Home for Funerals, 40 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown, NJ 08505 with The Very Rev. J. Matthew Tucker officiating. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville, NJ.
