Jo Ann Leonard Cobb, 84, of Greenville, stepped into the presence of God on December 2, 2024, at her home, with her beloved daughter, Susan, by her side.
Born on August 4, 1940, in Altavista, Virginia, Jo Ann was a daughter of the late Carl Leonard and Dorothy Julian.
She dedicated her life to the service of others, exemplified through her career as a licensed practical nurse. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering commitment as a caregiver touched the lives of countless individuals throughout her many years in the medical field.
Jo Ann was known not only for her professional dedication but also for her abundant kindness and generosity. She embodied the qualities of a true nurturer, always willing to lend a helping hand and offer support to those in need.
She was the faithful wife for 32 years to Reverend Jerry Eugene Cobb, until his death in June of 2024. Jo Ann was a devoted mother to her daughter, Susan Thompson; and a loving niece to her aunt, Jeanette McNeely. Jo Ann's spirit of giving will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have experienced her love.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until to 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, followed by a funeral service to celebrate her life and worship the God whom she adored, at 1:30 p.m. Jo Ann will be laid to rest beside her husband at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
We invite all who knew and loved her to join in remembering her impactful legacy. Her compassion, warmth, and gentle nature will be profoundly missed but will live on in the hearts of all she touched.
