Jo Ellen Myron, a radiant soul cherished by her family and friends, passed away on March 6, 2025, in Tulsa, OK. Born on December 8, 1960, in Gallup, New Mexico, Jo's journey began with the love and guidance of her parents, Ken and Mary Ellen Bishop. She grew up on the Navajo/Hopi Reservation in Tuba City, Arizona, where her parents ran the Dairy Queen and Laundry, which became a cornerstone of her early life.
Jo's youthful spirit was evident in her days as a cheerleader at Tuba City High School, where she also met her husband, Arvis Myron. Their love blossomed into a family with the birth of their two daughters, Shaye and Anissa. The family later moved to
Odessa, Texas, where Jo embarked on her lifelong passion as a hair stylist and cosmetologist, a career that allowed her to touch the lives of many with her creativity and care. Her family was made complete with the arrival of her son, Lathan Henry.

Her presence as an Art Crawl Street Vendor was a testament to her adventurous spirit and love for sharing her art with the world. Jo's selflessness shone through her dedication to helping others, whether through her work cutting hair in the jail alongside her daughter Shaye or her volunteer efforts at Ector County Greater Works.
Her competitive nature and love for games made her an avid gamer, enjoying the camaraderie and challenge of card games and dominos. Jo's strength of will and her outspoken, opinionated character made her a force to be reckoned with, yet her heart remained full of love and compassion for those around her. As an artist and a great cook, Jo found joy in the creativity of the kitchen, where she conjured up meals that warmed the hearts of her family and friends.
Jo's love extended to the simple pleasures of life, such as indulging in manicures and pedicures with her son Lathan, moments that reflected the close bond they shared. Those who knew her will remember Jo as a loving, adventurous, and selfless woman, whose generosity knew no bounds.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and inspiration in her children, Shaye, Anissa, and Lathan, who will carry forward her spirit of giving and her zest for life.
