Jo Ann Schmitz passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024 at the age of 94. She was born in Richland Center, Wisconsin on February 10, 1930, daughter of Harley and Violet (Weldy) McMillin. She married Sylvester A. Schmitz on September 2, 1950 in Bear Valley, Wisconsin. They had two children, a son, James (Susan) and a daughter, Lee Moriarty. She had four grandchildren, Andrea (Matt) Bowen, Mike (Carrie) Schmitz, Adam Moriarty and Alex Moriarty, and three great-grandchildren, Logan, Hudson and Hannah Schmitz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Harold McClary and a sister, Bonnie McClary.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church in Richland Center, with burial to follow in the Richland Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church from 10:00 AM until the time of the mass at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ocooch Mountain Humane Society or St. Mary's Catholic Church or School. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
