Jo Anne passed away on June 26, 2023 at the age of 80. She was the beloved wife of John Wilga with whom she had shared over 56 years of marriage. Jo Anne was born in Philadelphia, daughter of Joseph and Mary McGahan.
In addition to her husband, John, Jo Anne is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Murtha and her husband, John as well as her late son Joseph and her daughter-in-law, Jennifer. She was a doting "Nana" to six beautiful grandchildren, Jackie, Claudia, Noel, her husband Jake, Val, Gabby and Joey. She will be greatly missed by her nephew Don Brosius, her niece Sue Burton who was like a sister and daughter, and her husband Herb as well as many loving great nieces and nephews and a large loving family. Her late sister, Jacquelyn, and brother-in-law Don were a constant source of love and laughter through so many years of Jo Anne's life. She also loved all of her cats both here and over the rainbow bridge including Clawford, Ralph, Trixie, Mai-ling, Lucy, Ricky and Crystal.
Jo Anne was a devoted wife and mother. Her greatest love was her family. She was her husband's first and only true love, his best friend and partner in life. She was an avid collector of dolls, especially Barbie dolls and would have them proudly displayed in her "Barbie Room". This is where she spent most of her time relaxing and cheering on the Phillies with her husband, John.
For anyone that spent time with Jo Anne, you would instantly admire her quick wit and stories. She was always known for her beauty and still frequented the hair and nail salon until the very end. She was famous at the salons as everyone looked forward to her visits. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Saturday, July 1, 2023 from 8:30 AM to 10:30AM in Givnish Funeral Home 10975 Academy Road, followed by her Funeral Mass 11AM at St. Anselm Church, 12670 Dunks Ferry Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19154. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Rd, Bensalem, PA.
