Joan Carol Bobay (Goodman), age 84 of Sharonville, passed away on Monday January 1, 2024. Widow of Kenneth Bobay. Loving mother of - Lynn Schrader (Bruce) Fremont OH, Doug Bobay (Barb) Vancouver, WA, Greg Bobay (Bonnie) Cincinnati, OH, Mike Bobay (Pam) Raleigh NC. Grandmother of George Schrader (Boyceville, WI), Allison Schrader Thornsberry (Ron) St. Clair Shores, MI, Jacob Bobay, Thomas Bobay, Marissa Bobay, and Andrew Bobay, Vancouver, WA, Adam Bobay and Laura Bobay (Cincinnati, OH), Kyle Bobay (Kristin) Tampa, FL, and Lucas Bobay (Stillwater, OK). Sister of Germain Yaney and Mike Goodman. Preceded in death by Mary Staskelunas, John Goodman, George Goodman, and Leoba Stratton.
She was born August 26, 1939 in Fort Wayne, IN; to the late Gustave and Ruth Goodman. Joan was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Joan met the love of her life in Fort Wayne, IN. Married on October 3, 1959, Joan and Ken moved to Fremont, OH where they lived for 25 years and raised their family. After the kids were grown, they had the opportunity to live in Mt Airy, Maryland, Calhoun, Georgia and San Antonio,Texas, before coming to Cincinnati in their retirement.Joan adored her children and grandchildren, visiting them often, attending as many of her grandchildren's activities as she could. She kept each of her children's family members up to date on each others lives. Joan was an avid sports fan, cheering for the Detroit Tigers her entire life. She was a devoted Purdue fan watching as many football and basketball games as she could. Since moving to Cincinnati, she followed and cheered for all of the Cincinnati teams. Joan was a devout Catholic and parishioner at, St. Michael Catholic Church and attended church most weeks, until Covid. She and Ken were active in Marriage Encounter and became leaders in San Antonio. Joan lived a full and fulfilling life. She was active and healthy, living independently until the day she died. She was well loved and will be missed by many family and friends.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Southwest Ohio VFW Memorial Team 1066 Carraway Lane, Milford Ohio, 45150. Online condolences at www.StrawserFuneralHome.com
