Joan C. (Brown) Carcieri, 88, of Warwick, passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. She was the loving wife of the late Anthony C. Carcieri.
Born in Riverside on April 20, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Edith (Nickerson) Brown.
She is survived by her children, Raymond Ballou, and Anthony Chris Carcieri; her golden retriever, Holly; grandchildren,Braeden, Mason, Melissa, John and the late Kimberly; great grandchildren, Christopher, Abbey, Jackson, and Nicholas; and great great grandchildren, Aubree, Preston and Chris. She was the mother of the late Carol Ballou; and sister of the late Harley Brown.
Joan was a key punch operator for Providence Gas until she met her husband, she then became a homemaker, tending to the needs of her family. She learned to sail and had many wonderful times. As her life continued, Joan and Anthony spent many years camping in New Hampshire before taking their camping life on the road in an RV. Throughout the years, they traveled cross country while spending winters down in Florida with family. Joan's life was filled with life long friends, many adventures and outstanding memories.
She always said, "I have lived a great life and have no regrets".
A funeral service for Joan will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 10:00am from the Thomas and Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St.Clement Church, 111 Long St, Warwick. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00pm-7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116, or Hope Hospice, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904, or Warwick Animal Shelter, PO Box 9285, Warwick, RI 02889. Burial to take place in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
