Joan T. Duckworth, age 93, of Chillicothe, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at her home.
Joan was born on June 6, 1928 in Aurora, IL to Harold D. and Georgia M. (Fitch) Taylor. She married Elbert J. Duckworth on April 18, 1953 in Peoria, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Richard Duckworth, James (Cheryl) Duckworth and Cheryl Duckworth, all of Chillicothe; her grandson, Michael (Dawn) Duckworth of Indianapolis, IN and her great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kayla, Austin and Jaylyn Duckworth. Also surviving are sister, Cathie (Bob) Smith of Washington, IL and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Jane (Clay) Wieder; two brothers, Robert (Ginny) Taylor and David (Lois) Taylor; her daughter-in-law, Wanda Duckworth.
Joan was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, always worrying about her family and making sure everyone was taken care of. She was a member of Mossville United Methodist Church and she enjoyed watching her Cubs and reading.
Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and there will be no services at this time. Memorials in Joan's name may be made to the Blue Ridge Community Farm. Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Online condolences may be made through www.weberhurdfuneralhome.com
