Joan M. Evans passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Joan will be fondly remembered for her kindness, generosity, and thoughtfulness.

Born on June 18, 1935, in Binghamton, New York, Joan spent the first 79 years of her life in the Triple Cities. On June 26, 1954, she married the love of her life, Donald Evans. Together, they raised three children and built a life rooted in family and community. In 1963, the family moved to Endwell, NY, where Joan devoted herself to raising her children while also becoming an active member of the community.

Joan worked at Kent's Drugstore before beginning a career she loved as a Sterile Processing Technician at Wilson Memorial Hospital, where she served with dedication until her retirement. A longtime communicant of the Church of the Holy Family, she was a faithful member of the Altar Rosary Society.

After Don's passing in 2014, Joan relocated to the North Myrtle Beach area of South Carolina. There, she became an active member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church and joined the Ladies Guild. She was also a proud and devoted member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in both New York and South Carolina since 1976.

Joan embraced life with warmth and energy. She enjoyed bowling, golf, reading, and cooking, and she treasured time spent with loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Mary Lisek; her husband, Don; and her daughter, Michelle Evans. She is survived by her daughter, Pat, and her husband, Dan Green; her son, Scott; and her three cherished grandsons: Anthony (Melissa), Christopher, and Justin. She is also survived by her brother, Bill, and his wife, Diane, along with many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends-especially her "surrogate daughter," Diana Kresge, whose love and support meant so much.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful McLeod Hospice nurses and aides for their compassionate care.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Family in Endwell, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m., with burial immediately afterward at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan's memory to your local hospice or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
