Joan Pogue Gerow of Wilmington, Delaware, died on August 2, 2025, she was 92 years old. Joan was born in West Grove, Pennsylvania on June 28, 1933, and was the third of four children born to Elizabeth McKee Pogue and William Roberson Pogue. She moved to Wilmington, Delaware from Oakmont, Pennsylvania at the age of eleven after the death of her father. She was a graduate of P. S. duPont High School in 1951 and Goldey Beacom Business College. Joan married C. Culbert Gerow III (Cub) on October 11, 1952. The service was in Hanover Presbyterian Church, Wilmington, Delaware. She lived in Claymont, Delaware most of her married life, and retired from AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals where she held the position of Sr. Admin. Assist to the V.P. of Medical Affairs. Joan was an active charter member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Joan is survived by her two daughters and their families: Gail Wrightson (Timothy), DeAnne Heinbach (Todd), seven grandchildren: JoDe Beitler (Matthew), Jill Villecco (Marcus), Adam Prendergast, Kelly Kennedy (Lee), Parker Williams, Timothy Wrightson, Jr., five great grandsons, Zayne Beitler, Bryce Beitler, Boe Villecco, Vince Villecco, Dray Villecco, Tyler Kennedy, and one great granddaughter, Piper Kennedy. She is also survived by her sister, Jane Quigley of Ellicott City, Maryland, her brother, Joseph Pogue of Houston, Texas, her sister-in-law, Alice Smith (Gilbert), and multiple nieces and nephews. Joan's brother William Pogue, her brother-in-law, William Quigley, and her sister-in-law Joan Pogue, predeceased her.
In addition to spending time with her family, and friends, Joan enjoyed writing poetry, painting, sewing, crafts, music, and collecting antiques. She was also a member of Stoney Run Questers, a national antique study group.
Services will be private.
